On Dec.10, an international two-day (December10-11) meeting of experts dedicated to the UN resolution on reliable and stable transit of energy began in Ashgabat.
The event is held in Ashgabat with the assistance of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the conceptual approaches to the process of developing a new international legal mechanism capable to bring and maintain secure energy supplies on the world markets.
The initiatives designed by Turkmenistan to assure reliability and security of energy supplies on the world markets receive more understanding in the world, the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov said in Ashgabat on Energy Forum of the Energy Charter.
He said that the evidence of this became the unanimous support of the resolutions proposed by Turkmenistan in 2008 and 2013 by the UN General Assembly draft, the co-authors of which became a total of more than 70 countries of the world.
Turkmen president also said that the practical stage includes the process of formation of an international expert group to develop a new international and legal document of the United Nations, which is designed to ensure adherence to the general principles of doing business in the global energy space.
