Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the US, Allan Mustard, Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported citing Turkmen presidency on Jan.20.
The ambassador presented his credentials to Berdimuhamedov and conveyed the greetings of US President Barack Obama who expressed interest in the further development of the interstate dialogue meeting the interests of the two friendly countries.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the intensification of Turkmen-US dialogue on bilateral and multilateral basis, primarily, within international organizations.
They also emphasized the significant role of US-Turkmenistan Business Council, as well as the regular exhibitions and business meetings in fuel and energy, transport and communications, agriculture, health care, education and other spheres.
The US ambassador was also received at Turkmenistan's Foreign Ministry.
During the meeting, the sides emphasized the significance of expanding the bilateral dialogue by taking into account the long-term positive joint working experience.
They also emphasized the role of regular political consultations.
