In recent years, friendly relations and economic cooperation with Iran, effectively developing, reached a higher level, the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov said at an extended meeting of the government, the local TV channel Altyn Asir reported Feb.21.
It was noted at the meeting of the cabinet of ministers that on February 25-27, Turkmen-Iranian business forum and a specialized exhibition with the participation of 120 Iranian companies will be held in Ashgabat.
The exhibition will showcase a variety of products, including the ones in the areas of road construction, oil and gas sphere, power generation, water treatment systems and heating, building materials, as well as models of cars, trucks and passenger vehicles, textiles, foodstuffs industry.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov said that a key aspect of Turkmen foreign policy strategy is to strengthen and develop mutually beneficial partnership with all countries, especially with its closest neighbors.
The annual volume of bilateral trade between the two neighboring countries is about $5 billion and could double in the coming years, according to the Iranian side.
