Turkmenistan’s ambassador to Belarus appointed

Nazarguly Shagulyev has been appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Belarus (Minsk) in accordance with a presidential decree.

Nazarguly Shagulyev has been appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Belarus (Minsk) in accordance with a presidential decree.

The diplomat has been also appointed Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the statutory and other bodies of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

Earlier, Shagulyev served as Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Riyadh) and Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's official visit in October 2014 gave an impetus to the bilateral relations with Belarus.

An intergovernmental agreement on trade-economic cooperation was signed as part of the visit to Minsk and following the talks with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
