Turkmenistan's Deputy Prime Minister Byashimmyrat Hodzhamammedov has been appointed the country's representative in the Economic Council of CIS member states.
The corresponding decree was signed by Turkmenistan 's President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov.
Referring to the status of permanent neutrality recognized and supported by the UN, Ashgabat adopted a decision in 2005 to participate in CIS structure as an associated member. Turkmenistan chaired the CIS in 2012 and held around 30 events in this regard.
