The Yug-Neftegaz Private Limited company registered in Singapore has started implementing 2D and 3D seismic research under the contract with the Turkmengeologiya State Corporation in western Turkmenistan, in the area of North Goturdepe, Goturdepe and Barsagelmez fields, said the message of Turkmengeologiya.

The contract was signed based on the order of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov.

The message said that the work will be carried out both onshore and in shallow waters of the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea. The matter rests in performing 3D seismic research on the area including a shallow part of the Caspian Sea within the North Goturdepe field in the west of Turkmenistan, as well as the central and western parts of the Goturdepe field adjoining to it.

In addition, 2D seismic exploration work will be carried in the shallow waters of the Caspian Sea out from the Gulf of Darja to the southern sandbank of Kelkor lowland together with a plot of land, as well as 3D seismic survey in the southwestern part of the Goturdepe field, on Barsagelmez field and the depression situated between these two fields.

The resources of the Turkmen shelf of the Caspian Sea are estimated at 12 billion metric tons of oil and 6.5 trillion cubic meters of gas. A number of the contracted middle and deep areas were put up for international tender.
