The State Committee for Environmental Protection and Land Resources of Turkmenistan has carried out environmental insurance of the companies, the scope of which is the use of natural resources, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported.
These included factories, divisions of oil and gas state concerns, textile, industrial, agricultural and transport enterprises, foreign companies operating in Turkmenistan.
Hundreds of metropolitan and provincial government and private industry enterprises received environmental insurance.
Mandatory environmental insurance for businesses and organizations, regardless of ownership forms, based on the laws of Turkmenistan "On Environmental Protection" and "On Insurance", was introduced in the spring of 2013 to ensure the ecological safety of the environment.
