Turkmenistan and Belarus will discuss opportunities to expand efficient cooperation in all key areas, said Turkmen government's message May 11.

The discussions will be held during the visit of Turkmenistan's President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Belarus on May 11-12.

Prospects of cooperation in trade and economic, transportation and communication, scientific and technological spheres, fuel and energy complex, chemical and textile industries, and education will be touched upon during high level talks.

A package of documents is expected to be signed, aimed at creating a reliable legal framework and the most favorable conditions to enhance effective cooperation between the two countries based on the priorities of their social and economic development.

The two countries regularly hold talks on enhancing supply of agricultural machinery to Turkmenistan from Belarus that is used for agrotechnical works and gathering of cotton and grain.

One of the two countries' main joint projects is the construction of the mining and processing plant in Turkmenistan's Lebap region, the first phase of which is estimated at $1 billion. The project is being built jointly with Belarusian Belgorkhimprom JSC since August 2009.

Diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Belarus were established in 1993.
