Turkmen incumbent President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov voted in the presidential election at the polling station #48 of Kopetdag district of Ashgabat, which is located at the Annaniyaz Artyk school #68, the Turkmen State News Agency said.
According to the message, around 1,363 voters were registered at that polling station. Berdimuhamedov’s parents, son, two daughters and grandchildren also attended the polling station.
The president’s parents, then children voted in the polling station. Then President Berdimuhamedov dropped a ballot into the ballot box.
Many foreign and Turkmen journalists covered the voting process.
The polling stations opened at 07:00 (UTC/GMT+5) for voting in the presidential election in Turkmenistan.
The polling stations will be closed at 19:00 (UTC/GMT+5).
