Cotton sowing has started in the Ahal, Mary and Lebap regions of Turkmenistan, the country’s government said in a message.
As for Turkmenistan’s Dashoguz region, the cotton sowing there will begin March 29, according to the message.
“As much as 545,000 hectares have been allocated for sowing cotton this year in Turkmenistan, and there are plans to collect 1.05 million tons of cotton from them,” the message said. “It is planned to harvest 207,000 tons of cotton in the Ahal region, 230,000 tons in the Dashoguz region, 300,000 tons in the Lebap region and 313,000 tons in the Mary region of Turkmenistan.”
