Turkmenistan’s Turkmen Oil State Concern is carrying out oil exploration and drilling operations at the fields of the Balkan region in the west of the country at a fast pace, said the article of the Nebit-Gaz, the online newspaper of the Turkmen Oil and Gas Complex.
Currently, the oil exploration involves the Barsagelmez, Goturdepe, Ordekli and Altynguyi fields. Wells with the depth of over 3,800 meters were drilled in total since the beginning of 2017, which is 1,524 meters more than was originally planned.
In particular, drilling operations were completed at the 1,314th well of the Barsagelmez field, and the project depth of this well was 1,900 meters. Oil inflow was obtained from the well as a result of the drilling.
The well was commissioned after completion of the drilling operations. The search for oil fields is currently one of the priority directions of the geological exploration carried out by the Turkmengeology State Corporation.
