The Azerbaijani Embassy in Uzbekistan has held a memorial evening devoted to the Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis today.

The representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora, Azerbaijani students of the Tashkent universities and the media gathered in the Heydar Aliyev cultural center.

The embassy has recently prepared a press release about the facts of genocide of Azerbaijanis. The Armenian aggression was politically and legally assessed.

There were stands in the Azerbaijani, Russian and English languages in the lobby of the Cultural Center. The photos of the genocide committed on March 31, 1918 were placed there. An exhibition of books and booklets on the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict was organized.

Charge d'Affaires of Azerbaijan in Uzbekistan Akif Aliyev spoke about the causes and consequences of criminal acts of Armenian nationalists committed in the twentieth century against the Azerbaijanis.

The representative of the embassy presented the concept delivered by national leader Heydar Aliyev and stressed the importance of Solidarity of Azerbaijanis in the world in the name of national interests.

The second secretary of the embassy Sabuhi Ahmadov spoke about "March 31, 1918" and "Falsification of history". His speech was accompanied by a slide show demonstrating the facts of ethnic cleansing carried out by Armenian chauvinists, as well as falsification of historical facts to conceal the truth about these events.

The representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora emphasized that the international community has true information about the vandalism of Armenian chauvinists as a result of the policy conducted by the Azerbaijani government, headed by President Aliyev.

The speakers also stressed that the tragic pages in the history of the
Azerbaijani people will forever stay in the memory of Azerbaijanis around the world.

The "Call of the Nature" documentary film was demonstrated. It demonstrates the destruction in Azerbaijani occupied territories, Azerbaijani historical and cultural monuments, as well as the destruction and looting of natural resources.
