Uzbekistan, UK mull cooperation aspects in security

Representatives of the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s (FCO) Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Colin Roberts discussed the state and prospects of bilateral relations in the political, trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other fields, as well as issues of cooperation in the sphere of security, the fight against drug trafficking and transnational crime, the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan said.

Representatives of the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office's (FCO) Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Colin Roberts discussed the state and prospects of bilateral relations in the political, trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other fields, as well as issues of cooperation in the sphere of security, the fight against drug trafficking and transnational crime, the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan said.

According to the report, in practical terms, proposals on the schedule of upcoming Uzbek-British contacts at various levels are considered.

Both sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues.

The meeting was attended by UK Ambassador to Uzbekistan George Edgar.
