The Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov received the First Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Richard Hoagland on Feb.26, the republic's Foreign Ministry said.

Hoagland has arrived in Tashkent from Tajikistan to hold bilateral consultations, according to the ministry.

During the meeting Kamilov and Hoagland discussed the topical issues of the Uzbek-U.S. agenda, prospects of further strengthening of cooperation in political, trade, economic, humanitarian and other spheres of mutual interest.

The parties also exchanged views on some international and regional problems.

The U.S. ambassador to Tashkent, George Krol participated at the meeting.
