Participants of the eighth Republic of Korea - Central Asia Cooperation Forum held in Seoul, have worked out concrete measures for implementing the projects of cooperation in the sphere of health care, environmental protection, agriculture and forestry, South Korean Foreign Ministry said.
The issues regarding the cooperation in the spheres of health care, agriculture, environment and protection of forests were discussed at the plenary and breakout sessions of the forum.
The forum participants also agreed to start consultations on creation of a cooperation secretariat between South Korea and Central Asian countries, according to the ministry.
Delegations from South Korea, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan participated at the forum .The Uzbek delegation, headed by the country's Deputy Foreign Minister Murad Askarov, included representatives of Foreign Ministry, Ministry of Agriculture and Water Industry, Health Ministry and the State Committee for Nature Protection.
The forum, initiated by South Korea, proved itself to be a dialogue mechanism for discussing cooperation projects. The forum is held annually beginning from 2007 and aims to strengthen and expand the cooperation in the spheres of economy, information and communication technologies, construction and transport, science, culture, education, tourism, as well as to provide sharing experience between South Korea and Central Asian countries.
The previous, seventh Republic of Korea - Central Asia Cooperation Forum was held in 2013 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
