Uzbekistan and South Korea will hold the next meeting of the intergovernmental committee on trade and economic cooperation in Tashkent.

The agreement on this was reached during the meeting with South Korea's ambassador to Uzbekistan, Lee Uk-hyun at the country's Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed the topical issues regarding the further expansion of trade, economic, investment, financial and economic cooperation. They paid special attention to the elaboration of promising investment projects in various sectors of economy, primarily, in the petrochemical, chemical, engineering, electrical, pharmaceutical and textile industry.

The parties intensify preparations for the meeting in order to hold it as soon as possible.

Around $3.9 billion worth project for construction of the Ustyurt GCC at Surgil field, some $150 million worth project to develop the Sautbay tungsten deposit, some $70 million worth project to create a textile complex in the Tashkent province are among the major investment projects implemented jointly with the South Korean companies.
