Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Sept. 11

By Demir Azizov- Trend:

Czech Airlines will cease flights to Tashkent and close its office in Uzbekistan in late October, Czech Airlines Tashkent's office told Trend Sept. 11.

"The last flight to Tashkent will be made on Oct. 24," the representative added.

The main reason for the flight termination is low demand and lack of profitablity.

Czech Airlines started flying to Uzbekistan in 2009. A representative office was opened in Tashkent in 2012.

The airline currently makes flights to Tashkent by Airbus A-319 twice a week.

Uzbekistan Airways does not make flights to the Czech Republic.

Czech Airlines is the last European carrier which makes the flights to Uzbekistan. Earlier, Lufthansa, AirBaltic and others refused to make flights to Uzbekistan.

Currently, several carriers from Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Korea and China make flights to Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan Airways mainly transport passengers to near and far abroad.

Uzbekistan Airways makes flights to 21 cities in Europe, America, Middle East, Asia, 22 cities of CIS countries and 11 local destinations.
