By Demir Azizov- Trend:

Tashkent increases tariffs on cold water to 5.4 percent starting from October, the Suvsoz (Water Canal) company said Sept.12.

New tariffs for water supply services in residential apartment buildings with hot water supply will make 310 soums per cubic meter of water versus the current 294 soums, in private homes with sanitation - 225 soums versus 212 soums (a 6.1 percent increase).

In the apartments and houses of the private sector, which are not equipped with water counters, the cost of a cubic meter of cold water per person per month will make 3814.25 and 3490.46 soums respectively.

It was previously reported that since the beginning of this year Uzbekistan established the procedure, according to which the payment for the hot and cold water in a residential area which is not equipped with a counter is carried out by using a multiplying factor of 1.5 to the set tariffs.

In the absence of countering devices in the rooms where no one is registered, payment for services is carried out according to the norms of consumption by using a multiplying factor of 1.5 to the rates counting upon 1 person - in one and two room apartment, 2 persons - in the three room apartment, 3 persons - in the four room apartment and 4 persons - in the five room apartment.

Previous tariff increase for these types of utilities occurred in April 2014. Then cold water tariffs increased by 10.5 percent in multi-storey buildings with hot water supply and by 9.8 percent in private homes.

The official exchange rate for September 12 is 2355.69 soum / $1.
