Uzbek President Islam Karimov has signed a decree to appoint Ulugbek Sunnatov to the post of deputy prosecutor general, head of the Main Department for Supervision over the execution of laws.

Uzbek President Islam Karimov has signed a decree to appoint Ulugbek Sunnatov to the post of deputy prosecutor general, head of the Main Department for Supervision over the execution of laws, a message from the department said on Oct.16.

The Main Department for Supervision over the execution of laws was created within the structure of the country's Prosecutor General's Office in July in accordance with the president's decree. Meanwhile, the same department of the Justice Ministry was abolished.

The tasks of the new department of the Prosecutor General's Office include the supervision over the execution of legislative acts by the state and economic administrative bodies, law enforcement agencies and regulatory authorities, executive authorities, enterprises, institutions, organizations, as well as the compliance of the legal acts adopted by these bodies with the Constitution and law of Uzbekistan.
