Uzbekistan Airways national airline of Uzbekistan transported 1.976 million passengers in January.-September. 2014, which is 4.1 percent less than in the same period of 2013.

The passenger transportation to far-abroad countries has decreased by 2 percent and stood at 616,500 people during the reporting period as a result of reducing the passenger transportation to Paris, Riga, Tokyo and closing the flights to Geneva on May 30, according to a message posted on the company's website.

Uzbekistan Airways transported 422,300 passengers (a decrease by 5.7 percent) via the domestic routes, while the passenger transportation to CIS countries stood at 940,000 in January -September, according to the message.

The passenger transportation on these routes has dropped by 4.9 percent as a result of closing two airports in Ukraine (Kiev and Simferopol) and decrease of passenger transportation to Ekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk, Mineralnye Vody, Samara, Kaliningrad, Tyumen and Krasnodar.

The volume of cargo transportation of the company (including the air mail and excess baggage) increased by 7.1 percent and totaled 32,000 metric tons during the reporting period.

Uzbekistan Airways carried out 17,705 flights in January -September, which is 843 flights less than in the same period of 2013.

Uzbekistan Airways is a monopoly air carrier of Uzbekistan wholly owned by the state. It carries out flights to 21 cities of European, American, Middle East, Asian countries and 22 cities of CIS countries and in 11 directions on domestic airlines.

The company's fleet is currently consists of 31 aircraft of western production, including 13 Boeing, 13 Airbus, three medium-haul RJ-85 and two А300-600F cargo airbus.
