Uzbekistan's extraordinary commission for combating Ebola instructed the Foreign Ministry and the company Uzbektourism to temporarily suspend the tourist and other trips to and from the Ebola-stricken countries, the company said Nov. 10.

To prevent the penetration of the Ebola virus to Uzbekistan, the tourist and other travels of the citizens of Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Congo, Nigeria, Senegal and Mali will be suspended in accordance with the protocol of a meeting of the extraordinary commission held in late October.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the Ebola infection cases have been reported in the US, Canada, UK, Spain and Germany as well.

Aside from that, there are suspicions about the penetration of Ebola in Russia, Belarus, Moldova, Australia and Japan, the message said.

The message also said that in this regard and also to prevent Ebola's penetration to Uzbekistan along with tourists, the Uzbektourism asks people and tourism firms to suspend the tourist and other trips to and from the above-mentioned countries, and also take safety measures while organizing tourist trips to and from the countries suspected for presence of Ebola infection cases.

Currently, Uzbektourism together with the Health Ministry is developing instructions for an effective protection against Ebola, including preliminary prevention measures.
