Uzbek border guards Nov.13 foiled another attempt of smuggling of inventory in the republic in the area of the Uzak village of the Yangikurgan district of Namangan region on the border with the Ala-Buka district of Jalalabad region of Kyrgyzstan, said the Uzbek Committee for State Border Protection of the National Security Service (NSS SBCP).

The report said that during the arrest, the border violators disobeyed the lawful demands of the Uzbek border attire despite the preventive use of weapon.

As a result of the use of weapon, one of the offenders, Kyrgyz citizen, a resident of the Padak village of the Ala-Buka district of Jalalabad region of Kyrgyzstan, 40 years old A. Nabiev was wounded. Despite the fact that the injured person was provided with timely medical care in Yangikurgan hospital, he died during the surgery.

During the inspection of the scene a large consignment of inventory was found.

The law enforcement bodies of Uzbekistan started prosecution on this fact.

The report said that the aforementioned citizen since 2008 was engaged in the illegal smuggling of various goods across the Uzbek-Kyrgyz border.

"The Committee for the Protection of the State Border of the NSS of the Republic of Uzbekistan once again calls on the Kyrgyz counterparts to take the necessary measures to prevent violations of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz state border," said the report.

An incident also occurred this week in the neighboring southern Batken region of South Kyrgyzstan on the Uzbek-Kyrgyz border, during which the Uzbek border guards used their weapon against two citizens of Kyrgyzstan. It is the fifth incident on the Uzbek-Kyrgyz border since the beginning of 2014.
