The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Uzbekistan has announced about the start of the election campaign for the presidential election in the country on Dec.26, 2014, CEC head Mirza-Ulugbek Abdusalomov said at a briefing on Dec.26.
"Under the Article 117 of Uzbek Constitution, Article 2 of the country's Constitutional Law 'On the next elections to the representative bodies of state power and the president of the Republic of Uzbekistan' and Article 8 of the Uzbek law 'On the election of president of the Republic of Uzbekistan', it was decided to schedule the presidential election for March 29, 2015," said Abdusalomov.
