The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Uzbekistan has signed bilateral agreements on coverage of the preparation and holding of the election of president of the republic with the National Television and Radio Company (NTRC), the National News Agency (UzA) and Information Agency Jahon at the Uzbek foreign ministry, said a statement of the CEC.

Special attention will be paid to the creation of a broad and equal opportunities for presidential candidates in usage of the media for campaigning, and also by providing them with an equal volume of airtime and print space within the framework of the signed agreements.

It was reported that the holding of presidential election in Uzbekistan is scheduled for March 29 2015. Four political parties officially operating in the republic have been admitted to the election - Movement of Entrepreneurs and Businessmen - Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan (UzLiDeP), the National Democratic Party Milliy Tiklanish (National Revival, People's Democratic Party), the Democratic Party of Uzbekistan Milliy Tiklanish (National revival, DPU) and the Social Democratic Party Adolat (Justice, Social Democrats).

The parties decided to nominate their candidates for the presidency at the plenary sessions held in mid-January 2015. UzLiDeP put forward Islam Karimov as a candidate for president, People's Democratic Party offers chairman of the central council of the party Hatamjon Ketmonov to this post, USDP - a chairman of the executive committee of the party Narimon Umarov, DPU Milliy Tiklanish - a member of the faction of the party in the parliament, chairman of the Committee on Democratic Institutions, NGOs and Citizens' Self-Governing Bodies Akmal Saidov.

The previous presidential election was held in Uzbekistan in 2007.
