Centenarians of Uzbekistan will receive special allowances for retirement pension in the amount of 100 percent of the minimum wage, according to the state program "Year of attention and care for the older generation."
Currently, the minimum wage in Uzbekistan is 118,400 Uzbek soums (UZS) per month, the minimum retirement pension - 231,575 Uzbek soums.
The official exchange rate for February 23 is 2,454,30 UZS / $1.
Some 8, 700 persons aged 100 years and more currently live in Uzbekistan, according to the ministry of health of Uzbekistan.
