Uzbekistan's Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov received on Aug. 20 the British Ambassador Christopher George Edgar, who is ending his diplomatic mission in the country.

During the meeting, FM Kamilov highlighted the British ambassador's successful work as the diplomatic mission's head and expressed gratitude for his contribution to development of relations between Uzbekistan and the UK in the political, trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres, said Uzbek Foreign Ministry August 20.

In turn, Ambassador Christopher George Edgar expressed gratitude for the support and conditions created for his successful work in Uzbekistan.

As it was earlier reported, Christopher Allan, who previously served as the deputy head of UK's diplomatic mission in Ethiopia, was appointed the new ambassador to Uzbekistan.

Allan is expected to take the office in Uzbekistan in autumn 2015.
