The Uzbekneftegaz National Holding Company (NHC) has completed implementation of the project worth $51.7 million for further development of Kultak field with modernization of Pamuk booster compressor station, the statement of the ministry of economy of the country said.

The project was financed through own funds of the holding.

Kultak gas condensate field is located in the Kashkadarya region (southern Uzbekistan), it has been operational since the 1970s, and is one of the largest fields in the oil and gas sector of Uzbekistan, but its reserves are not disclosed.

The project implementation will bring gas production at the field up to one billion cubic meters annually, according to Uzbekneftegaz NHC.

Currently, Uzbekneftegaz implements a program to increase the production of hydrocarbons at several existing fields. Until the end of 2020, it is planned to implement further development of oil and gas fields with a total value of $2.35 billion.

Uzbekistan ranks third in production of natural gas among the CIS countries and is among the ten largest gas producing countries of the world. Every year, the country produces about 60 billion cubic meters of gas, part of which is exported.
