Uzbekneftegaz National Holding Company will direct $266 million for upgrading of the Yangiyer-Tashkent gas pipeline in 2016-2018, one of the areas of which suffered from a major fire outbreak, the company told Trend.

The part of the pipeline caught fire due to increased pressure.

The representative of Uztransgaz JSC (a subsidiary of Uzbekneftegaz NHC, which controls main gas pipelines) said the project envisages the construction of the pipeline's new part with length of 165 kilometers.

Funding for its construction will be carried out at Uzbekneftegaz's own funds.

Yangiyer-Tashkent pipeline with the length of 195 kilometers has been operated since 1999 and it is a part of the gas supply system of Uzbekistan's Tashkent city and Tashkent region.
