Tashkent hosted the next round of the Uzbek-Georgian consultations between the two countries’ foreign ministries, said the Uzbek Foreign Ministry’s press service Dec. 9.

The delegation of Georgia’s Foreign Ministry was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister David Jalagania.

Representatives of the two countries discussed issues of the Uzbek-Georgian relations in political, trade and economic, transportation and communication, cultural and humanitarian and other spheres, as well as issues of cooperation within international organizations, considered the state of contractual and legal base of cooperation and proposals on its expansion.

The two sides noted that Uzbekistan and Georgia attach great importance to dialogue at various levels and formats, expressed their interest in intensification of mutually beneficial relations between the two countries’ business circles.

Diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Georgia were established in August 1994. Currently, legal base of the Uzbek-Georgian relations is regulated by more than 80 intergovernmental and interdepartmental documents.
