Prosecution bodies should play an important role in strengthening justice in the society, said Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
He made the remarks at a meeting with employees of prosecution bodies of Uzbekistan, held on the occasion of the Day of Workers of Public Prosecution, celebrated Jan. 8, the country’s National News Agency (UzA) reported.
President Mirziyoyev stressed the role of the prosecution authorities in ensuring the strict compliance with the law and formation of a democratic rule-of-law state.
Mirziyoyev reminded that from this year on, heads of administrations of all levels, heads of prosecution and internal affairs bodies will report to the Uzbek population.
In addition, assessment of prosecutors’ activities will be conducted in the regions of Uzbekistan.
