Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will visit Russia in April.

The announcement on Mirziyoyev’s visit was made during the 18th meeting of the Uzbekistan-Russia intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation, which started in Tashkent on Feb. 15.

The Russian delegation at the meeting is headed by Deputy Prime Minister Dmirty Kozak.

Russia is the first-rate foreign trade partner of Uzbekistan. Trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $4.2 billion in 2016, according to Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade.

Currently, 961 enterprises, created with Russian capital, operate in Uzbekistan, including 810 joint enterprises and 151 enterprises with 100-percent Russian share. Representative offices of 64 firms and companies of Russia have been accredited in Uzbekistan.

Meanwhile, 569 enterprises with participation of Uzbek residents have been created in Russia.
