Total assets of Uzbek banks up since early 2017

The total assets of Uzbek commercial banks in January-March 2017 amounted to 90.1 trillion soums, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan said in a message posted on its website.

It was earlier reported that the total assets of Uzbek commercial banks in 2016 amounted to 80.4 trillion soums.

Thus, the volume of total assets of Uzbek commercial banks in January-March 2017 increased by 12.1 percent compared to the volume of total assets of Uzbek commercial banks in 2016, according to the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.

The total loan portfolio of Uzbek banks increased in the first quarter of 2017 by 7.3 percent and amounted to 57.3 trillion soums.

The total volume of deposits, raised by banks of Uzbekistan, increased by 6.3 percent in January-March 2017 to 47.4 trillion soums.

The aggregate bank capital in Uzbekistan increased by 5.3 percent to 9.9 trillion soums in the reporting period.

Twenty-six commercial banks currently operate in Uzbekistan.
