The first international conference on jet fuel will be held in Tehran in July 2012, Pananews news agency reported.

The two-day event is scheduled to review international regulations on jet fuel trade and discuss opportunities and challenges in this field of industry.

Iran has launched a new jet fuel production unit at the western Kermanshah Oil Refinery which has the capacity to produce 450,000 litters of the product per day.

Deputy Oil Minister Alireza Zeighami made the announcement in an interview with Mehr news agency, adding that the jet fuel output will meet needs of the country's western provinces and its surplus can be exported to neighbouring countries.

Iran started hiking up its jet fuel production capacity after U.S. President Barack Obama signed into law in December 2011 the toughest ever U.S. sanctions on Iran aimed at choking off Tehran's access to imports of refined petroleum products like jet fuel and curbing its access to the international banking system
