Iran's Amir Kabir University has started domestic manufacturing of fire-resistant cotton clothes, ISNA reported

Head of university's textile department Hamidrza Ali Babaei said that abroad in foreign countries this kind of clothing is expensive and its technology of production is a complex one.

Babaei added that aside from being difficult to manufacture, the fire and flame resistant cotton clothes are not comfortable to wear.

"We've managed to manufacture fire and flame resistant clothes of cotton that are cheaper than on the foreign markets and also more comfortable to wear," Babaei said.

He added that these cotton clothes made in Iran would be competitive against other similar products on the foreign markets.

Previously, Iran has been in deficit of fire and flame resistant clothing for its industry workers, since those had to be imported from foreign countries.
