Iran and North Korea have agreed to further develop and enhance the bilateral economic relations between the two countries, IRNA reported.

Iranian Minister of Industry, Trade and Mines Mehdi Ghazanfari, in a meeting with North Korea's Minister of Foreign Trade Ri Ryong Nam noted that the trade relations between the two countries are limited, and should be expanded.

Ghazanfari said that given the current situation in the world, it is in interest of both countries to expand their relations, especially in economic sphere.

He also proposed to create a joint commission on economic and trade between Iran and North Korea to help boost the trade between the two countries.

Iran's minister noted that Iran could help North Korea is such areas as medicine, agricultural machinery, construction materials, and also technical and engineering services.

The sides also discussed investment opportunities in Iran, as Ghazanfari said while the two countries have a long history of diplomatic relations, the trade should be expanded in the near future.
