Russia believes that Iran is capable to prove the peaceful character of its nuclear program on condition of constructive cooperation with IAEA, said Russian Ambassador in Iran Levan Jagaryan in his interview to ITAR-TASS.
"Russia is definitely against the policy conducted by some countries regarding the sanctions against Iran which are far beyond the frames of the UN Security Council resolutions on restrictions," the diplomat emphasized.
"Such attitude complicates the way out for solving the available problems within the negotiations process".
"The Russian side is positive that Iran is capable to prove the exclusively peaceful character of its nuclear program while cooperating with IAEA in a constructive way," the Ambassador said.
"In such a case the reason for pressing via sanctions will disappear itself. Moreover, such cooperation will remove the arguments of these who consider the force application as a possible diplomatic alternative".
"Regarding the reflection of sanctions on Iranian population, the Iranian media regularly publishes the information on worsening of social-economic situation in the country," added Jagaryan. "First of all it is caused by a sudden fall of the national currency rate, and also by raise of prices for consumer goods and services".
"Naturally on this basis the internal political conflict is deepening, and it is connected with current economic policy of the government which is widely criticized by many Majlis (Iranian Parliament) Members," the diplomat said.
