Preparatory work towards the Iranian Bushehr nuclear power plant's startup is in the final stage, CEO of the state corporation Rosatom, Sergei Kiriyenko told reporters, RIA Novosti reported.
"Final work on startup is underway," Kiriyenko said.
Construction of the Bushehr nuclear power plant was started in 1974 by the German company Kraftwerk Union AG (Siemens / KWU). On August 25, 1992, the governments of Russia and Iran signed an agreement on the construction of the nuclear power plant, and in January 1995, signed a contract to complete the construction of the first power station. Busheher started operating under the control of the IAEA on August 21, 2010, when nuclear fuel was delivered to the reactor compartment station. In May 2011, works were undertaken to bring the nuclear steam supply system to the minimum controlled power level.
