The Secretary General of the Combatant Clergy Association Ayatollah Mahdavi Kani said that he does not consider Saeed Jalili capable to carry out the presidential duties, Young Journalists Club reported on June 12.

While delivering a lecture at his ethics class at Imam Sadeq University on Wednesday, Ayatollah Mahdavi Kani answered a question regarding his opinion about Saeed Jalili's candidacy for presidency.

"Mr. Jalili is a pious man," he said. "But I do not believe that he has enough managerial power, the ability needed to hold the presidential post."

The Secretary General of the Combatant Clergy Association said that although Jalili conducted good negotiations on the nuclear issue, "Presidential qualifications differ from those other positions.

Iran will hold the 11th presidential elections on June 14, 2013.
