The presidential duties from Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will soon be transferred to the new president, Hassan Rouhani, Fars news agency reported.

Head of Iranian presidential administration Hamid Baghayi has been appointed as responsible for transferring the presidential duties from Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Hassan Rouhani, Fars news agency reported.

The inauguration of the new Iranian president will take place in August.

Rouhani won the recently-held presidential elections in Iran, gathering 50.7 percent of votes. Current president of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad did not participate in the election race due to country's constitutional laws.

On June 18, Ahmadinejad met with Rouhani, and the two agreed to appoint a special representative who would be transferring the necessart duties to the new president.

Ahmadinejad and Rohani held a meeting on Tuesday at the Centre for Strategic Studies of the Iranian Advisory Council.

Besides Ahmadinejad, representative of the Iranian Supreme Leader in the Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili attended the meeting.
