Iran and Oman did not talk about the U.S., during the visit of Oman's Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said, Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said, Fars news agency reported.

He went on to note that Iranian officials and Oman's Sultan did not hold any concrete, detailed talks regarding the United States.

Some media outlets reported that the objective of Sultan's visit to Tehran is to mediate between Iran and the United States.

"Both president Rouhani and Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei have expressed their views on negotiations with the U.S., and Iran's position on this issue remains clear," Zarif said.

Further speaking, Zarif said that Iran and Oman held very productive, fruitful talks, and the sides discussed a range issues of mutual interest.

He also said that the sides signed an agreement on co-operation between Iran and Oman.

"We discussed regional and international issues, and in the future the results of this visit will be seen," Zarif underscored.
