Iran has unveiled its Tactical Troposcatter Communication system and Rased 32 smart monitoring system, IRIB news agency reported.

The systems have been manufactured jointly by the Khatam ol-Anbia Air Defence Base and Iran's Defence Industries Organisation, the report said.

The Troposcatter Communication System which is used in air defence action works on a tropospheric scatter method.

Tropospheric scatter is a method of transmitting and receiving microwave radio signals over considerable distances.

The Rased-32 system is a mobile monitoring system which can intercept any flying object or ground site and relay the gathered information to an air defence base immediately.

Last year ISNA news agency quoted Commander of Khatam ol-Anbia Air Defence Base Brigadier General Farzad Esmailee as saying the Rased-32 system is mass produced in the country and is currently under use in sensitive and critical areas such as the country's nuclear sites.

Later in August, Esmailee lauded the country's experts unsparing efforts of achieving self-sufficiency in the production of the required equipment and announced that at least 15 new air defence achievements will be unveiled in the coming days.

The commander also noted that Iran has also produced the Sepehr radar system and this will be equipped soon. According to him, this radar system covers an approximate 2500 kilometres area.

It should be noted that the large scale air defence exercises 'Defenders of the Sky of our Province - 5' have been held in Iran in recent years. To date, four similar exercises have already been held.

He also noted that Iran designs and intends to install new phased array antennas which will detect stealth missiles and cruise missiles.
