Azerbaijan, Baku, September 10 / Trend N. Umid /

Iranian foreign policy doctrine does not threaten any country, Iranian Defense Minister Hossein Dehghan said, Iranian State TV 1 reported.

He also went on to note that, boosting mutual relations with neighbors is Iran's priority, adding that extending relations with Islamic countries is the next priority of Iran's policy.

He also criticized western countries due to popularizing Iranophobia in the region.

Iran is the harbor of the stability in the region Dehghan said, adding that region's security should be provided by regional countries.

Dehghan went on to note that Iran has the lowest military budget among region countries.

"Iran is almost self-sufficient in defense industry and some 80 percent of country's military equipments produced domestically," he said.

Iran has technology for manufacturing missiles of any range, Dehghan said, adding that "we are among top missile manufacturers in the world."

Dehghan also warned the U.S. on possible intervention in Syria, stating that Syrian regime and its allies would react against any military action.

In recent years, Iran states that it has self-sufficiency in essential military hardware and defense systems.

Tehran established an arms development programme during the Iran-Iraq war to counter the weapons embargo imposed on it by the US and its Western allies. Since 1992, Iran has manufactured its own tanks, armoured personnel carriers, missiles, radars, boats, submarines and fighter planes.

Iran successfully tested a homemade radar evading UAV with bombing capabilities in June 2009.

In 2008, the Islamic Republic's Defense Industries launched production lines of two home built fighter jets, namely Saeqeh and Azarakhsh.
