Iranian commander outlines country Navy forces' purpose in Caspian sea

Iranian Navy's Northern Fleet Admiral Khordad Hakimi has outlined the purposes and duties of Iran's Navy in the Caspian Sea, Fars news agency reported.

Iranian Navy's Northern Fleet Admiral Khordad Hakimi has outlined the purposes and duties of Iran's Navy in the Caspian Sea, Fars news agency reported.

"Presence of Iranian Navy in the Caspian Sea is based on reinforcing and coastal security," he said, adding that on the sea Iran doesn't pose any threat to other countries.

"Iranian Navy takes steps within the principle of strengthening peace and building friendship with other countries," Hakimi emphasized.

He also underlined that, the countries of Caspian Sea region cooperate on protecting the regional security without intervention of foreign forces.

Speaking of Kazakh Navy Commander Zhandarbek Zhanzakov`s visit to Iran, Hakimi said that the main purpose of the visit was expanding educational cooperation between the two countries.

Zhanzakov visited Iran and discussed possible cooperation prospects and the implementation of joint measures on protecting the ecology of the Caspian Sea.

During the visit, Zhanzakov visited Iranian Navy training centers, and also visited Iran's Gilan province, where he reviewed the Iranian Navy's Northern Fleet serving on the Caspian Sea.
