Baku, Azerbaijan, Nov. 6

By T. Jafarov, S. Isayev - Trend: Iranian delegation headed by country's deputy Foreign minister Abbas Araqchi has today morning left for Geneva, Fars news agency reported on Nov. 6.

The Iranian side has already arrived in Geneva for talks with P5+1 group on Iran's nuclear program.

The U.S. and its Western allies suspect Iran of developing a nuclear weapon - something that Iran denies. The Islamic Republic has on numerous occasions stated that it does not seek to develop nuclear weapons, using nuclear energy for medical researches instead.

Iran's foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, will also arrive in Geneva after wrapping up his visit to Paris.

The talks between Iran and P5+1 group are scheduled to begin tomorrow and will last for 2 days.

First round of talks was held on Oct. 31 on the expert level between the two sides. The two-day meeting was meant to prepare for the next round of political negotiations.

The expert-level discussions were the latest in a series of meetings over October, as Iran and the powers step up diplomatic efforts to try to end the decade-old row that could otherwise plunge the Middle East into a new war.
