By Rahim Zamanov - Trend: President Rouhani's third nominee for the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs also failed to win parliament's vote of confidence.

Seyed Nasrollah Sajjadi received 124 votes in favor, 107 against and 22 abstentions, the Mehr News Agency reported.

The MPs had previously rejected Masoud Soltanifar and Reza Salehi Amiri for the post.

Vice president Mohammad Shariatmadari will remain the caretaker of the ministry until the next candidate is introduced to the Majlis.

Of the total of 18 nominees in the president's proposed list in August, 15 were earlier approved by legislators. Other two ministers were approved last week.

Rouhani had unveiled the list of his proposed cabinet members during his swearing-in ceremony on August 4.

He had a three-month time span to name replacements for those ministries that started the president's term with caretakers in the absence of ministers.
