The Volleyball Federation of the United States has officially invited Iran's national volleyball team to play several friendly games in Los Angeles, Iran's IRNA news agency reported on Jan. 23.

Iran's volleyball team will play four friendly games on August 7 to 17, 2014 in Los Angeles, during which Iran's team also will have a preparation camp.

Iran will play four friendly matches against the U.S. on August 9, 13, 15, and 16, all in Los Angeles.

The U.S. side will cover the expenses for the entire trip for 19 players and technical staff for 10 days.

Iran defeated the United States at the 2013 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Grand Champions Cup. The 2013 round of the games kicked off in Japan on Nov. 19 and wrapped up on Nov.24.
