By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Secretary Generals of the Organizations of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), and Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) will attend an international conference on the future ofIran's oil sector after sanction, the Mehr News Agency reported on Jan. 29.

OPEC Secretary General Abdullah Salem el-Badri, GECF Secretary General Mohammad Hossein Adeli, and ECO Secretary General Shamil Aleskerov will attend the conference, titled "Iran after Sanctions, Energy, and Environment".

The conference will be held on March 8-9 in Tehran. It aims to introduce investment opportunities inIran's oil, gas, and petrochemicals, which are estimated to worth $200 billion.

The implementation of the Geneva nuclear deal will pave the way for an increase in Iran's oil exports, Seyyed Mohsen Ghamsari, an official with the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), said on Jan. 12, the IRIB News Agency reported.

"All customers of Iran's oil are waiting for the deal to come into force," Ghamsari said.

"Iran exported around 1.2 million barrels of gas condensates per day in the previous year," he said, adding that the figure has reached 1.4 million barrels in the current year.

Reuters last month quoted an Iranian oil official as saying that the country exported 600,000 barrels of oil per month (21.3 million liters per day) in the first three quarters of the current year.
