Iranian president Hassan Rouhani, in a meeting with Kuwaiti parliament speaker Marzouq al-Qanem, underscored that solidarity among Gulf countries can help restore security to the region and Gulf, Iran's IRNA news agency reported on Feb. 19.
Solidarity and consolidation of relations of the Gulf countries can procure the security of the Gulf, Rouhani said.
The Iranian president pointed to terrorism as one of the serious problems of the region, and said that "supporting terrorism and extremist groups can eventually harm the interests of their supporters."
The Kuwaiti parliament speaker, for his part, conveyed the warm greetings of the Kuwaiti emir, Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmed al-Jaber al-Sabah and said, "I hereby declare the optimism of my countrymen and the people of the region towards your thoughts."
