A ten-member parliamentary delegation from the Netherlands is set to pay an official visit to Tehran early in the next Iranian calendar year (which will start on March 21) to discuss bilateral relations, Iranian Ambassador to Hague, Kazem Gharib Abadi said, Iran's Mehr news agency reported on Feb. 25.

The Netherlands is Iran's third largest European partner and the volume of trade between the two countries totals 1.5 billion euro yearly, Gharib Abadi said.

He also highlighted commonalities of the two sides in bilateral, regional and international domains and stressed further bilateral cooperation between the two sides.

The last parliamentary delegation from Netherlands visited Iran in 2003.

In December 2013, senior Iranian MP, Abbas Ali Mansouri Arani emphasized the necessity to enhance ties with parliaments of other countries, adding that the legislature has invited a number of parliamentary groups to pay a visit to Tehran.

"Parliamentary groups facilitate the promotion of Iran's ties with different countries and they have a good effect on assisting the foreign ministry to promote relations," Mansouri Arani, who is a member of the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, said.
