Iran seeking friendship with countries respecting nation’s rights, president says

Iranian President said Iran seeks sincere friendship with countries that respect the rights of the Iranian nation.

Hassan Rouhani made the remarks while addressing a gathering of people in the city of Ilam in the western Ilam province on May 7, Iranian official IRNA news agency reported.

He said Iran is extending its hand of friendship to all those countries both in the west and east which respect the nation's rights and admit its grandeur.

The president stressed that all the victories of Iran have been achieved due to the resistance and struggle of the nation.

Rouhani remarked that his government has gained success in its foreign relations, adding that Iran's ties with the world, especially the neighboring countries, are now much better and stronger.

President Rouhani, along with a number of his cabinet members arrived in Ilam this morning for a one-day visit.

Bijan Namdar Zanganeh the oil minister, Seyyed Mohammad Alavi the intelligence minister, Mohammad Baqer Nobakht the speakesman of the cabinet, Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh the industry minister, Mahmoud Hojjati the agriculture minister and Abbas Akhoundi the minister of road and urban development in addition to some other members of the 11th cabinet accompany him in the trip.

Since his coming to power in last August, Rouhani has visited Khuzestan, Hormuzgan and Sistan and Baluchestan provinces, all in south of the country.
